After the Rain is a pair of palazzo pants built around one idea, carried at full scale. The print is set into the garment, not parked on the front of it.
A pattern with somewhere to be. This one takes a single motif and lets it run — at full scale, unapologetic, sized for somewhere with better light. Cut from a 95% polyester, 5% spandex blend, and finished so the colour stays as loud on the tenth wear as it was on the first.
After the Rain is not a subtle piece and was never trying to be. It is the one thing in the drawer that decides the rest of the outfit.
Works against plain white, raw denim, black linen and very little else — which is exactly the intention.
After the Rain starts as artwork and stays artwork — drawn at scale, then fitted to the garment rather than shrunk onto a panel.
Most of the work on After the Rain was deciding what to remove. The first version had three more colours and half the confidence.
